GoPositive Programme: Free for school classes

Kombucha is a fermented tea drink and an exciting, healthy alternative to soft drinks. In this workshop, children and young people discover how tea, sugar and microorganisms are transformed into a fizzy drink. In the process, they learn about important topics such as nutrition and health, food safety and sustainability in a fun and engaging way.

The hands-on approach encourages curiosity and personal responsibility: Participants make their own kombucha and observe the fermentation process. What’s more, the experimentation is fun and enhances their understanding of natural processes and food production...and it tastes great!

In doing so, pupils learn:

  • To understand a healthy alternative to soft drinks
  • To acquire the basics of fermentation
  • To experience sustainability through DIY drinks
  • To apply hygiene rules and food safety
  • Enjoy a high level of fun and hands-on involvement
